A Record Sales Month for Motor Vehicles in May

Australia’s automotive industry has achieved its best ever May sales result with 105,694 new vehicle deliveries. 
This result is a 12.0 per cent increase on the same month last year and represents a 2.7 per cent increase on May 2017 which was the previous best May result.

FCAI Releases April 2023 Car Sales Data

Australia’s automotive industry delivered 82,137 vehicles during April 2023, which represents a 1.3 per cent increase on the same period in 2022.
“Electric vehicles accounted for 8 per cent of sales in April. This is well up from 1.1 per cent compared with April 2022.

FCAI Releases 2022 Brand CO2 Emissions Data

The Federal Chamber of Automotive Industries has released the 2022 CO2 emissions data for each brand as part of its industry led, voluntary CO2 Emissions Standard.
The FCAI released consolidated 2022 industry data from the Voluntary Standard on 3 April 2023.

FCAI Releases January - March 2023 Motorcycle Sales

12th April 2023

A total of 22,374 motorcycles and Off-Highway-Vehicles (OHV) were sold from January–March 2023, marking a decrease of 8.1 per cent compared with the same period in 2022.
Road motorcycles made up 40.9 per cent of total sales with 9,150. This is a decrease of 5.9 per cent on 2022 figures.

FCAI releases March 2023 car sales data

Australia’s automotive industry delivered 97,251 vehicles during March 2023, which represents a 3.9 per cent decrease on the same period in 2022.

Results of 2022 voluntary emissions reduction standard released

The FCAI has today released the 2022 results of Australia’s voluntary emissions reduction standard for light vehicles.
The MA (passenger cars and light SUVS) outcome for 2022 was an average of 131 grams (146 grams in 2021) of CO2
for every kilometre travelled.

The FCAI, the peak body for Australia’s automotive industry, has today released sales figures for motorcycles and off highway vehicles (OHV) for 2022.
A total of 99,030 motorcycles and OHVs were sold representing a decrease of 19.8 per cent on 2021 figures. Off road motorcycles made up 42.

FCAI releases 2022 new car sales data

Australia’s automotive industry delivered more than one million new vehicles to drivers around the country in 2022, despite post-pandemic supply chain challenges and delivery delays. A total of 1,081,429 vehicles were delivered during an unusual year when demand exceeded supply.

Australia’s preference for SUV and Light Commercial Vehicles has continued with these two segments making up 80.1 per cent of the 87,299 new vehicles sold during October 2022.
The Passenger Vehicle segment was 15.3 per cent of monthly sales and the residual sales were Heavy Commercials at 4.

A total of 70,382 motorcycles and OHVs were sold between January and September 2022.  This represents a decrease of 18.
